How to set up multiple WordPress websites on the same VPS?

Most VPS providers now have automatic WordPress installation applications. However, after the installation is completed, we often find it difficult to install another website on the same VPS. This requires you to have a little knowledge of programming.

This can be explained simply because all the VPS providers will want you to rent another VPS server to install another website.

Or in many cases, you need to install more subdomain like up.flashreviewz.com but you don’t know how to manage it. Then this article is for you. In this article I will guide you to setup multiple WordPress pages or subdomains on the same VPS.

you don't know how to install many wordpress websites on a vps server

First let’s check out the video below!

I will now summarize the process:

Step 1: you hire VPS at Vultr.

Choose a server location in areas close to your audiences to maximize their access speed. You should choose CentOS 64bit server. If you’re a beginner, you should choose the $ 5 or $ 10 per month option. You can turn on the auto-backup feature if you like.

Step 2: Point your Domain Name to VPS

To speed up your website, I recommend that you route the name servers to Cloudflare’s system, so setup the DNS in Cloudflare.

You can refer to this article on how to do it.

Step 3: Log in to VPS via computer

You can use BitviseSSH Client software, also the Notepad ++ to edit the commands later.

Step 4: Install VPSSIM with the command

VPSSIM is a VPS management application that helps people who do not have a lot of programming knowledge to use VPS well. You use the following command to install:

curl http://get.vpssim.vn -o vpssim && sh vpssim

Step 5: Start VPSSIM & install WordPress

Use the ‘vpssim ‘command to start this application, then you can follow the instructions to easily install WordPress.

Step 6: Repeat

If you want to install more WordPress websites, or install additional subdomains, just use VPSSIM & do the same. Generally this application does not require you to know much about programming.

So, with this guide, just hire a VPS, you can add unlimited websites or subdomains, apply in WordPress installation or any other source code.

Note

You should consider…

  • Upgrade VPS: If your website has a lot of traffic, you need to upgrade the server’s RAM and CPU to become more powerful.
  • Rent more VPS server: If you want to manage multiple projects separately, or simply want to spread the risk, you should do this.

Most importantly, back up your site regularly. As I thought, the schedule once a day is reasonable. You can manually backup or use BackupBuddy

If there is anything you do not understand in the operation process or in the above instruction video, please leave a comment in the comment section. I will reply soon.
